Anand Prakash
Anand Prakash is an artist whose work explores the exchange of global cultural ideas and traditions, blending conventional and unconventional techniques. His art seeks to address the questions, “What is this?” and “Who am I?” through a fusion of geometric abstraction, lyrical abstraction, and traditional influences. Prakash’s work is defined by an abstract and conceptual approach, with multiple layers of technique and medium to create a unique visual experience. His art moves fluidly between concrete and abstract forms, often conveying a connection between the conscious and subconscious mind. Drawing on human psychology and ancient Hindu philosophy, his work explores the relationship between aesthetics, logic, and social development, offering viewers an opportunity to contemplate life, energy, and time.
He holds an MFA from the University of Gwalior and a BFA from the University of Allahabad. Anand has held solo exhibitions in prominent galleries such as Triveni Gallery, New Delhi, and ICCR, Bhopal. His group shows include national and international platforms, including the India International Art Fair, Pragati Maidan, and Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai. His accolades include the National Academy Award at Lalit Kala Akademi and several other national and international recognitions. His work is in the collections of esteemed institutions such as Bharat Bhawan, Bhopal, and Kalavartnyas, Ujjain.
