UDAY GOSWAMI
Uday Chand Goswami was born in September 1983 in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, and is a contemporary Indian artist currently based in Bhopal as a freelance practitioner. He holds a BFA (2007) and MFA (2009) in Painting from the Government Institute of Fine Arts, Gwalior. Deeply driven by an urge to understand nature and human life, Goswami treats his paintings as a visual notebook—capturing small wonders, everyday moments, and ordinary subjects reimagined with poetic insight.
His artistic language reflects the intersection of nature and existence, where elements such as seeds, growth, transformation, and renewal become central metaphors. Through vibrant colours and intricate forms, his works explore the cyclical forces that shape life, inviting viewers to recognise beauty in the overlooked and contemplate the unseen energies of the world around them. Whether inspired by a beehive or a fleeting daily scene, his compositions reveal the extraordinary within the familiar.
Uday Goswami has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions across India and internationally, including presentations in South Korea, the Czech Republic, and Serbia. He has received several accolades for his innovative approach, including the M.P. State Award and the prestigious Raza Award. His works form part of important collections, and through his evolving practice, he continues to offer fresh, contemplative narratives that celebrate the quiet significance of everyday life.
