AMIT BHAR
Amit Bhar is a highly acclaimed, self-taught Indian artist whose work draws deeply from the rustic landscapes and lyrical spirit of rural Bengal. From an early age, he developed a keen visual sensitivity to everyday life, nature, and human presence—elements that remain central to his artistic practice.
At the age of sixteen, Bhar further refined his skills at the Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata, where he received guidance from Shri Paresh Das, a noted gold medalist. His artistic vision was later shaped through close mentorship under renowned artists Subal Jana and Niloy Ghosh, which played a crucial role in the evolution of his distinctive and expressive visual language.
Amit Bhar’s paintings are celebrated for their sensitive handling of form, light, and texture, creating poetic spaces where reality and imagination gently converge. His works evoke quiet introspection and emotional depth, offering viewers an experience that feels both intimate and universal.
